> Nobu Matsuhisa
Known to the world as Nobu, this world-renowned chef opened his first restaurant, Matsuhisa, in 1987 in Los Angeles. Because a chef’s first priority is his customers, Nobu uses only the finest ingredients from all over the world. With a foundation of traditional Japanese cuisine, he weaves international influences into his dishes. These innovative flavors were first developed out of necessity as Nobu worked in Peru without the supply of his usual Japanese ingredients. Through a trial and error process, using local spices from wherever he travels, Nobu creates truly unique and delicious tastes. Since his first restaurant, Nobu has opened 14 more throughout the world. He has also collaborated with Robert DeNiro to create nine restaurants on three continents.
